Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacists in delivering high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of pharmacy practices, medical terminology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, particularly within acute care and critical care settings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including IV infusions, while adhering to aseptic techniques.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Provide support in managing inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing pharmaceuticals.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication management for patients.
  • Educate patients on medication usage and answer any questions regarding their prescriptions.
  • Perform quality control checks on medications and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in pharmacy practices.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred; experience in a hospital or acute care setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy-related concepts.
  • Familiarity with critical care protocols and procedures is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
