About the Role

As Procurement Manager, you will lead and elevate our procurement operations, overseeing a team of two Procurement Specialists. You will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that optimize costs, streamline processes, and foster strong vendor relationships. Your role will be pivotal in driving cost efficiencies across the organization through strategic sourcing, negotiation, and continuous process improvement. You'll partner with internal stakeholders, legal, security, and finance teams to ensure compliance and maximize value.The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of two Procurement Specialists, the entire procurement process, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. This role involves strategic planning, negotiation, and process improvement within the procurement department.

Essential Functions

Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management

  • Lead sourcing initiatives for SaaS, professional services, and enterprise software solutions, establishing category strategies to optimize licensing models and reduce costs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, evaluating their performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct market research, pricing analysis, and benchmarking to ensure competitive and best-in-class solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, aligning sourcing strategies with company objectives.

Contract Negotiation & Legal Collaboration

  • Partner with Security, Legal, and Compliance teams to review, negotiate, and finalize contracts—including SLAs, data protection agreements, and commercial terms.
  • Manage contract workflows to ensure timely reviews, approvals, and compliance.
  • Maintain a centralized contract database supporting audit readiness and governance.
  • Assist with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system enhancements to streamline workflows.

Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Process Ownership

  • Own the end-to-end P2P process from purchase requests through to payment, ensuring adherence to policies and approval hierarchies.
  • Work closely with Finance and Accounts Payable to manage purchase orders, invoice reconciliation, and accruals.
  • Lead automation projects and system improvements to enhance procurement speed, visibility, and accuracy.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Proven success negotiating SaaS, cloud, and professional services agreements.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing procurement teams.
  • Expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor evaluation, and contract management.
  • Familiarity with procurement systems and tools such as Ironclad, Conga, Coupa, Ariba, NetSuite, or similar.
  • Experience optimizing procure-to-pay workflows and implementing automation solutions.
  • Knowledge of AI-powered procurement solutions (spend analytics, automated contract review, vendor risk scoring) is a plus.
  • Project management proficiency (e.g., Six Sigma, Agile) and working knowledge of Salesforce ecosystem integrations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years' experience as a Procurement Manager or similar role, preferably in the SaaS industry 

  • Strong track record in negotiating software and services agreements, including SaaS, cloud, and professional services contracts.

  • Experience managing or improving procure-to-pay and vendor onboarding workflows.

Additional Information

Responsive uses a market-based compensation philosophy. A candidate's starting base salary will be determined by the specific responsibilities of the role, as well as job-related skills, experience, qualifications, location, and current market trends. For this position, the base salary range is $115,000–$135,000. Our recruiting team will provide details on the applicable range based on your location during the hiring process. Please note that this range covers base salary only and does not include bonus or benefits.
