Job Purpose

The Job Coach will mentor and support individuals with disabilities as they create, market, and sell their artwork for The individual artists will develop their own creative ideas, and the Job Coach's role is to help implement those ideas, providing hands-on support, transportation between Dutton Farm locations in Macomb and Oakland County, and support to ensure each project is completed. The Job Coach will assist participants in finishing art pieces across different mediums, taking quality photos, and posting completed works online for sale. This position is part of an exciting and growing program that empowers individuals to share their art, earn income doing what they love, and showcase their talents to the world.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support program participants as they create art pieces in a variety of mediums (painting, ceramics, crafts, mixed media, etc.).
  • Provide hands-on support to help participants complete their art projects with care and creativity.
  • Transport participants safely between Macomb and Oakland County locations (round-trip: day program to art studio).
  • Photograph finished art pieces using a phone or camera and ensure quality images for online display.
  • Assist participants in uploading and managing artwork listings on for sale.
  • Encourage and support participants in developing entrepreneurial skills, creativity, and confidence.
  • Reinforce positive work habits, social skills, and artistic expression.
  • Maintain daily notes and documentation in accordance with Dutton Farm policies.
  • Promote safety, inclusion, and respect for all participants and staff.
  • Collaborate with Dutton Farm leadership to continue shaping this new and growing program.

Qualifications

  • Mission aligned
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • High school diploma required
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must pass background check
  • Must complete training within 30 days of employment
  • Commit to a particular schedule based on individual's job schedule
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Maintain a professional demeanor with a focus on advocacy, respect, and demonstrating a strong work ethic
  • Must be self-motivated, reliable, and dependable
  • Strong ability to adapt and willingness to be flexible

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.55 per hour
