Position Overview

AT&T is seeking a Senior Unified Communications (UC) Consultant to lead the administration, design, and technical delivery of our Cisco Webex Dedicated Instance (DI) environment.

This role will play a pivotal part in accelerating the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) transformation initiative , ensuring a smooth and coordinated transition from legacy Primary Rate Interfaces (PRIs) to SIP trunks. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in Cisco voice technologies with strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills to enhance Altria's Unified Communications landscape.

Key Responsibilities

1. PRI to SIP Transformation

  • Lead the assessment, planning, and execution of PRI to SIP migration projects.
  • Ensure seamless transitions and minimal service disruption throughout migration phases.

2. Cisco CUBE Configuration and Support

  • Design, configure, deploy, and support Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) solutions focused on SIP transformation.
  • Optimize configurations for security, interoperability, and high availability .
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex SIP routing and call flow issues .

3. Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)

  • Administer and maintain CUCM clusters across on-premises (v11.5) and Cisco Webex DI (v15.0) environments.
  • Implement call routing, dial plans, device pools , and feature configurations to support migrations and cutovers.
  • Conduct upgrades, patches, and proactive health checks.

4. Cisco Webex Dedicated Instance (DI)

  • Deploy, configure, and support Webex DI environments , ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructures.
  • Provide end-user and administrator support to optimize adoption and efficiency.

5. VoIP Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and resolve VoIP quality, connectivity, and interoperability issues .
  • Analyze logs, traces, and packet captures to identify and remediate root causes.

6. Technical Migration & Cutover Activities

  • Configure and optimize Cisco 4431 and 4451 routers for gateway and SBC functionality.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and vendors for successful SIP trunk turn-up and PRI number porting .

7. Best Practices & Audit Activities

  • Develop and document Webex Calling DI best practices and optimization recommendations.
  • Conduct environment and dial plan audits, providing improvement strategies.
  • Review and recommend enhancements for Webex Calling DI Emergency Services .

8. Communication & Project Management

  • Act as a key liaison among stakeholders, technical teams, and end users.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and technical documentation .
  • Track deliverables and ensure timely, high-quality project completion.
Required Qualifications

General Abilities

Technical Expertise

  • Proven experience leading PRI to SIP transformations in enterprise settings.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and Cisco Webex Dedicated Instance (DI) .
  • Advanced VoIP troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Cisco voice gateways (4431/4451 routers), CUBE , and Session Border Controller (SBC) implementations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNP Collaboration , CCIE Collaboration , or equivalent.
  • Experience with additional collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom .
  • Knowledge of network protocols , Quality of Service (QoS) , and security best practices related to UC environments.
