Job Summary:

We are seeking a person to Coordinate data for audits, budgets, cost reports and surveys. In conjunction with the Director of Finance, oversees areas of accounting in preparation of financial statements, tax returns, budgets and other reports; prepares budgets, financial reports, cost reports, tax returns, and reports for the State Department of Human Services; and reports, evaluates, and interprets the financial results of Morningside Ministries' activities to the Director of Finance. Provides administrative assistance of a technical nature to the Director of Finance as well as carries out special assignments as directed.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Preparation and review of monthly and annual financial statements.

  2. Preparation of quarterly and yearly bondholder reports and covenants in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Finance.

  3. Preparation of budget worksheets and assistance in preparing annual operating budgets.

  4. Preparation and review of audit schedules and work-papers for annual audit.

  5. Preparation and review of work-papers for Medicaid & Medicare Cost Reports.

  6. Preparation and review of fixed assets schedules and depreciation.

  7. Reviewing and implementing improvements in accounting methods and procedures; analyze and review internal control processes and procedures.

  8. Maintains a budgetary control system, collaborating with the finance and various operating departments in preparing operating and capital expenditure budgets.

  9. Provides the Chief Financial Officer and other operational departments with adequate, accurate, and timely reports reflecting the results of operations with financial statements and budgets.

  10. Responsible, in conjunction with the Director of Finance, for Morningside Ministries' accounting practices, the maintenance of the accounting records and the preparation of financial statements.

  11. Maintains ongoing communications with the accounting firm conducting the annual audits, tax returns and cost reports.

  12. Keeps current with State Department of Human Services and Medicare requirements.

  13. Works in conjunction with the Director of Finance on any and all responsibilities listed above.

  14. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business required. Prior accounting/finance/healthcare experience preferred. Must have advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products.

B. Must have knowledge of principles of accounting. Knowledgeable of Medicaid and Medicare rules and regulations.
