About Us

Land-Tech Services, LLC (LTS) is a South Jersey–based land surveying and construction layout firm providing high-precision mapping, drafting, and support services for civil, structural, and energy projects. We specialize in boundary, ALTA, and topographic surveys, construction layout drafting, LiDAR and UAV data processing, and detailed as-built documentation.

Position Overview

LTS is seeking an experienced Senior CAD Draftsman to support and help shape our growing remote drafting department. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in land surveying, civil/site drafting, and construction layout drafting, with the ability to manage data from field collection through final deliverables—all performed in a remote environment.

This is a fully remote position. You'll collaborate with project managers and field crews through cloud-based platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Trimble Connect, and SharePoint to deliver high-quality survey drawings and digital deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and manage drawings for boundary, ALTA, topographic, construction layout, and as-built projects
  • Process survey data and generate linework, surfaces, contours, and sheet sets using AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson Survey
  • Maintain and update company CAD standards and drawing templates
  • Perform QA/QC reviews on survey drawings and CAD deliverables
  • Communicate with project managers and field staff via remote collaboration tools
  • Develop and optimize LiDAR data extraction and integration workflows (UAV and terrestrial)
  • Assist in recruiting, mentoring, and managing remote CAD technicians as the team grows
  • Prepare final plats, as-built drawings, and client-ready deliverables

Requirements

  • 5+ years of CAD drafting experience in land surveying or civil engineering
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson Survey (Trimble Business Center experience a plus)
  • Solid understanding of coordinate systems, datums, and surface modeling
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and online collaboration tools
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a remote setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Trimble or Carlson workflows (TBC, CRD/CRDB, surface exports, etc.)
  • Familiarity with QGIS, Pix4Dmatic, Leica Cyclone 3DR, Carlson Point Cloud, or n4ce
  • UAV mapping or point-cloud (LiDAR) processing experience
  • Experience developing automation scripts or technical workflows
  • Supervisory or mentoring experience with CAD staff
  • Associate degree or technical certificate in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field
