Slaughter, Reagan & Cole, LLP, is a mid-size, AV rated, Ventura County business litigation and insurance defense firm located within walking distance from the beach. We pride ourselves on our close-knit collaborative environment and strong ties to the local community. We maintain a large number of long-standing staff and promote high morale and a good working atmosphere.

We are seeking a litigation associate with a minimum of one or more years' experience in insurance defense or relatable litigation experience. Ideal candidate will be independent and self-motivated. The position provides substantial file responsibility including ample court appearances and depositions.

We focus heavily on training our associates to become the best lawyers possible. All associates are assigned a dedicated mentor and we maintain an open-door policy for questions and additional training. Associates will have the opportunity to work cases from inception to trial with partner guidance. We encourage a relaxed working environment while emphasizing the aggressive representation of our clients. Once trained and accustomed to the firm atmosphere, attorneys have the ability to work remotely when necessary and when it would be more efficient in the growing remote world in our field.

Ideal candidate will possess:

· California Bar License

· Excellent academic record

· Experience or exposure to civil litigation and/or insurance defense

· Strong work ethic

· Strong advocacy and verbal communication skills

· Excellent research and computer skills

· Strong legal writing skills for written discovery, reporting, and motion preparation

· Ability to take depositions and handle case files

· Desire for court appearances, deposition and trial work

· Professional demeanor, common sense problem solving and can-do attitude

This position has a salary range of $105,000.00 to $165,000.00, with benefits (401K, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life), a bonus structure for those who exceed minimum billing requirements, guided mentorship, and opportunities for advancement. We also provide resources to encourage further professional development and community involvement.

This is a fully remote position. Our firm also offers in-office associate roles for those interested.
