Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a detail-oriented IT System Administrator with Cyber Security experience to support our federal customer in the Washington DC area. The candidate will work with the government customer to support the review and implementations of system security configurations, policies, and procedures for the federal customer's IT Systems. This is a hybrid role with 2 days a week on site or as the customer requires.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with IT Operations and cloud team to properly harden operating systems and applications, specifically with CIS Benchmarks.
  • Reviewing and validating controls in outlined in NIST Rev 5, applied via Microsoft GPOs and other methods.
  • Maintaining an updated Master List of Benchmarks for all enterprise systems and applications.
  • Performing security product reviews of IT products and assisting with Change Management security reviews.
  • Supporting the Network Operations/Firewall teams with security baselines.
  • Tracking ServiceNow status and providing routine progress updates to the team lead and following up with users on the resolution of ticket for completeness/quality and satisfaction.
  • Developing SOPs on security configuration processes and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience administering Windows 10/11 systems, Office 365/Azure Administration; SharePoint Online Administration, Teams Administration.
  • Technical proficiency in programming languages like JavaScript.
  • Proficiency with version control systems like GitHub.
  • Solid understanding of development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum.
  • Develop and maintain complex Excel spreadsheets and support benchmark analyisis, reportingExperience administering and maintaining Windows Servers , Microsoft SQL Database 2016 – 2019, Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Familiarity with Federal Cybersecurity publications like NIST 800-53, FISMA and NIST Risk Management Framework. Knowledge of Azure Active Directory and/or LDAP management, and configuration, PKI, SSO across multiple domains, MFA.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, Intune, and preferably PowerBI.
  • Experience with configuration and support of Linux, preferred.
  • Experience developing and creating user guidance documentation.
  • Equally important are soft skills like problem-solving, communication, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Requirements:

  • US Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree - preferably in Information Technology.
  • Five or more years' work experience as a system administrator or related position.
  • Working knowledge of Cyber Security fundamentals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Excellent in Microsoft Excel skills.
