What You'll Get to Do
As an Electrical Designer at Echo Power, you'll play a key role in designing emergency power systems for healthcare facilities, primarily hospitals. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop safe, code-compliant, and efficient electrical solutions that support critical infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design electrical systems for emergency power applications, including generators, switchgear, automatic transfer switches, and related components.
- Create detailed schematics, layouts, and construction drawings using AutoCAD.
- Collaborate with mechanical, structural, and other engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Ensure designs meet NEC 70, NFPA 99, and other relevant codes and standards.
- Prepare project documentation such as specifications, reports, and as-built drawings.
- Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Conduct site visits to support project delivery and ensure design integrity.
What You Bring
- Deep knowledge of NEC and NFPA standards.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit, SKM PowerTools, or ETAP is a plus.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum of a 2-year technical degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in electrical design, with a focus on 480V systems and emergency power systems in healthcare settings (preferably hospitals).
Job Location
Remote (with up to 25% travel). Candidates should live within one hour of a commercial airport.
Pay and Benefits
- $65,000–$95,000 salary (based on experience) + up to 15% annual bonus.
