Rich Feuer Anderson (RFA) is a bipartisan federal government affairs firm focused on financial services, tax, and energy policy. Since our firm's inception in 2003, RFA has been trusted by clients, from startups to Fortune 500 companies, on issues of strategic importance in business, policy, and politics. We design and implement advocacy and advisory strategies to help companies strategically position their business in an ever-changing political environment.

We are looking for a highly motivated and hardworking professional to join our team as a post-grad Public Policy Intern. This position will work closely with RFA's team of analysts and lobbyists to advance client priorities on Capitol Hill and with Federal regulators, as well as provide clients with real-time coverage and analysis of key events like Congressional hearings and regulatory meetings.

Role Description

This is a paid in-person internship role for a Government Affairs Intern located in Washington, DC, available for January 12, 2026, starting date that will run the duration of a semester. The Government Affairs Post-Grad Intern will work closely with RFA's professionals to design and implement advocacy and advisory strategies. Some various tasks will include:

  • Covering relevant hearings conducted by Congressional committees and regulatory agencies and drafting summaries for client dissemination.
  • Drafting preparatory materials for RFA's staff and clients, including biographies, agendas, and talking point documents.
  • Conducting research for advisory pieces.
  • Tracking legislation and regulation for clients.
  • Flagging breaking updates internally and with clients.
  • Joining calls and meetings with clients.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a graduate or professional degree (e.g., law, public policy, business) at a university in the Washington, DC area.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Able to work on-site in Washington, DC.
  • Strong analytical skills to review legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with Capitol Hill, Executive Branch, or the government affairs industry.
  • Working knowledge of legislative and rule making processes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of government affairs and a strong interest or academic focus in energy, financial services or tax policy.
