We are assembling an agile software development team with the expertise and passion for solving challenging unique problems in data platform. You will use your knowledge and creativity to design and build innovative new multi-tenant and distributed systems from the ground up in OCI. Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Be part of a great team - building Data Platform inside Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), delivering Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Big Data, Business Analytics Solutions at scale As a Principal Software Engineer, you will design, develop, troubleshoot, and own software programs for databases, applications, and tools. We are looking for experienced engineers who are really programmers at heart.

As a Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will build entire services and act as a leader on your team. You will be writing exceptional code and tests, mentor others on your team and establish high quality standards, drive design and architecture of your service, and play a key role in planning, execution and operational readiness. As an engineering leader, we expect you to raise the bar for the entire engineering organization – whether through best engineering practices, operational excellence, development process or shared code contributions.

Basic Qualifications   

• 5 to 10 years distributed service engineering experience in a software development environment   

• Development experience in a modern programming language, such as Java, C++, C#   

• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and operating public cloud service control planes   

• Deep understanding of object-oriented design specifically within a cloud environment   

• Experience working closely with architects, principals, product and program managers to deliver product features on time and with high quality.   

• Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.   

• Deep understanding and hands on experience of databases, storage, and distributed persistence technologies.   

• Demonstrable technical leadership and mentorship skills

Preferred Qualifications   

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related field    

• Hands-on experience developing services on a public cloud platform (e.g., OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP)   

• Experience driving security reviews, documentation, UX reviews, and working with Product Managers from inception through launch   

• Experience and understanding of multi-AD/AZ and regional data centers   

• Building continuous integration/deployment pipelines with robust testing and deployment schedules

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position.
