Who Staffing is looking for a Project Engineer for a fulltime, direct hire opportunity with our client in Columbia, MD.

Job Summary:

The Project Engineer is a pivotal role in our client's managed services team, responsible for assisting their Centralized Services team with the design of their projects, then implementing, and overseeing IT projects for their clients. This position involves working closely with clients to understand their IT needs and delivering tailored solutions that align with their business objectives.

Roles:

  • Subject Matter Expert in various solutions, across multiple vendor technology.
  • Supports Centralized Services in development and Implementation of client's Project Standards.
  • Provides updates on Project Stages and Tasks to Client Success Manager and Project Manager.
  • Provides stalled or delayed project tasks to Client Success Manager and Project Manager.
  • Documentation Specialist, providing new articles and/or updating existing client documentation.
  • Project Budget composition.
  • Project - Scope of Work generation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
  • Lead and manage IT projects from initiation to closure, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
  • Develop project plans, including scope, timeline, resources, and budget.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to ensure successful project completion.
  • Technical Implementation and Support:
  • Design and implement technical solutions such as network configurations, cloud migrations, cybersecurity measures, and software installations.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in the selection and implementation of IT systems and services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues that arise during the project.
  • Client Communication and Relationship Management:
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of project progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Understand client requirements and provide recommendations based on their business needs.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with other team members, including technicians, network engineers, and support staff.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Ensure the quality of services delivered meets both company and client standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation for future reference and compliance with industry standards.
  • Professional Development:
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in IT and managed services.
  • Engage in continuous learning and development to enhance technical skills and industry knowledge.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software, common networking applications, cloud infrastructures, desktop and server operating systems, and Word Processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco) are advantageous.

Experience, Education & Certifications Preferences:

  • This position will be recommended to have before entering this position:
  • 5–7 years of experience in IT systems design, implementation, and management.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering IT projects in a managed services or enterprise IT environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of IT systems, including networking, cloud services, and cybersecurity.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco) are advantageous.
