Property Accounting Manager

General Description:

Goldenrod Companies is currently accepting applications for a Property Accounting Manager in our Omaha, NE office. This position reports to the Controller and CFO. The financial compensation package is discretionary and will be determined between you and the CFO.

Primary Job Functions
:

This person will be responsible for supporting accurate and timely financial reporting in the month-end close process for existing and new commercial, residential and industrial real estate properties. Additionally, the position contributes to strategic initiatives and special projects, including technology implementation and process improvements, and providing financial insights to support decision-making. Must have a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.

Required Tasks and Skills:

  • Responsibilities include leading the month-end and year-end procedures within the required timeframe
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable/receivable ledgers, reconciliations, and journal entries
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies, accounting standards (GAAP), and fully understand property specific processes
  • Acting as an Administrator for our Property Management Software and AvidXchange, an accounts payable automation software
  • Oversee administrative functions including vendor management, certificate of insurance compliance, IT & helpdesk coordination
  • Collaborate with onsite management teams and other cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and lead issue resolution
  • Coordinate annual operating budgets to ensure completion within assigned deadlines
  • Assist in new property set up & technology implementation, lead training for new hires, and supervise a team of property accountants
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience Level:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 3-5 years accounting experience required
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written and ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal controls
  • Ability to work at a detailed level and manage multiple demands and competing priorities
  • Experience in MS Office Suite, Yardi Voyager, or equivalent
