SUMMARY: Queens University of Charlotte seeks an administrator experienced in academic support services to serve as the Executive Director for Student Success. This position's primary responsibility is to provide strategic leadership and oversight for academic support programs, initiatives, and services that enhance the undergraduate student experience and promote student success. This is a full-time, 12-month administrative position reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Academic Success and Operations.

This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is not eligible to earn overtime pay or compensatory time off for additional hours worked. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for academic student services, which includes academic advising, academic support programs, such as subject tutoring and supplemental instruction, athletic academic success, writing center, and student accessibility services.
  • Supervise professional staff in the Center for Student Success and manage relevant budgets.
  • Work collaboratively with Center staff and campus partners to remedy students' academic concerns.
  • Collaborates with the Assistant Vice President for Academic Success and Operations to analyze institutional data to identify potential concerns and create strategies to improve student academic success.
  • Maintain and oversee Watermark's permissions and features, promote faculty and staff usage, and identify strategies to introduce students to the platform.
  • Oversee assessment for support service operations that are aligned with the institution's university-wide learning outcomes and strategic plan.
  • Identify emerging trends, best practices, and new research related to student success issues and pro-actively share that knowledge with center personnel and other interested constituencies.
  • Coordinate the Student Support Team.
  • Represent the university at events as required.

Non-Essential Duties

  • Other duties and special projects may be assigned to meet department and university needs.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills Preferred

  • At least 5 years of experience in academic advising, academic support services, or student success work including supervisory level responsibilities.
  • Experience working with higher education/university populations.
  • Current knowledge of best practices in academic advising, student success, student retention, and experience in implementing successful programs in such areas.
  • Experience teaching in a university setting is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead departments and provide proactive, strategic leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Master's degree required, preferably in higher education administration or related field. Ph.D. or Ed.D. preferred.
