Candidate Preferences
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate extreme ownership. While we are looking for technical acumen, the candidate would be categorized as a technical generalist. With the ability to balance technical knowledge, collaboration, and market insight.

With much of the collaboration happening in Baltimore MD, a candidate local to the area and willing to work in office.

Responsibilities
As a member of a small team, you will be enabled to leverage, validating new automated equipment's assumptions. You will also be responsible for designing and developing early electromechanical prototypes to test technical limitations. Utilizing market research and product development you will be expected to outline technical feasibility in support or opposition of the new ideas and technologies. All team members are expected to produce a weekly report on progress and next steps.

Product Design, Ideation, And Prototype Creation
Engage in creative thinking and problem solving.

Conceptualize, develop, and launch new prototypes.

Iterate on product designs based on testing and feedback.

Collaboration And Communication
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, sales, product management, and marketing, to progress work and utilize resources efficiently.

Coordinate available resources and manage third-party vendors.

Ensure seamless hand off to product development for a timely delivery to the market.

Business Strategy And Profitability
Balance cost, quality, and time-to-market to create products that are not only functional but also profitable.

Collaborate with idea generators to elaborate on concepts and value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (preferred Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering).
  • Proven experience in product development.
  • Experience with multiple major PLC brands (Rockwell, Siemens, Beckhoff).
  • Experience with industrial automation software and hardware.
  • 6+ years combined experience (product engineering, controls engineering, etc.)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) and relationship management skills.
  • Willingness to travel 10-20%. Mostly domestic, some international.

Preferred

  • Experience rapidly prototyping equipment.
  • Preferable experience in Electromechanical equipment.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Creative, hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Relentless objectivity.
  • Real examples of cost savings from projects executed.
  • Experience in Inventor 3D, AutoCAD 3D, and or Creo View.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Rockwell and or Siemens platforms.

The position is eligible for one of the following: commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives according to the terms of those plans

Salary Range $68,000 to $187,600.
