Position Overview:
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce seeks an Executive Director, Strategic Partnerships, reporting to the SVP, Strategy and Partnerships. This role is focused on driving company growth by leveraging business development, strategic planning, and marketing experience to forge and expand key relationships, particularly with Fortune 500 companies and other organizations. The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership to the Global Partnerships team, ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives, collaborate across departments, oversee partnership negotiations, and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.
The U.S. Chamber's Global Partnerships team (GPM) works directly with chief marketing officers (CMOs), chief communications officers (CCOs), and the marketing teams of major global brands. The team identifies synergies between the brands' marketing and reputational objectives and the Chamber's policy expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and target Fortune 500 companies and other organizations for long-term partnerships, with a focus on driving revenue growth and expanding the Chamber's strategic reach.
- Act as the project manager for all assigned partnerships, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external clients to execute partnership elements and ensure that deliverables meet expectations and drive measurable ROI.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to engage potential partners, leveraging the Chamber's value proposition and aligning with business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in target companies, particularly in marketing, media, communications, and adjacent areas.
- Oversee the negotiation of partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and mutual value creation.
- Collaborate with leaders across departments to foster a culture of partnership and ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Work closely with internal teams, including Member Relations and Operations, to ensure successful execution of partnership initiatives.
- Support the development and tracking of customized KPIs for each partner to define success, demonstrate value, and exceed expectations while charting progress against strategic goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for partners throughout the engagement lifecycle, managing communications, resolving issues, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 10–12+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, and strategy, ideally within media, agency, or fast-paced entrepreneurial environments.
- Proven track record of identifying and securing high-impact partnerships, selling directly to senior marketing executives, and consistently exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong sales acumen with a focus on driving growth for the Chamber through strategic outreach, prospecting, and relationship building.
- Exceptional leadership and strategic decision-making skills, with a history of motivating teams and optimizing processes to drive results.
- An interest in policy with a solid understanding of the Chamber's work and value.
- Strong interpersonal abilities and a talent for building and maintaining relationships across all levels, including C-suite stakeholders.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with experience leading negotiations and navigating complex conversations with diplomacy.
- Deep understanding of operational best practices, emerging industry trends, and resource management.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and adept at managing evolving programs, policies, and stakeholder needs.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, such as Salesforce; Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; and familiarity with InDesign or other creative platforms.
The salary range for this position is $173,774.00 to $200, The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant's qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
