Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse/Utility team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials within our distribution center. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks for loading and unloading materials.
  • Perform order picking and packing duties using RF scanners to ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring all materials are handled safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
  • Engage in heavy lifting and materials handling as required by operational needs.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems for tracking inventory levels and order fulfillment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following established safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Previous warehouse experience is preferred; experience as a warehouse supervisor is a plus.
  • Proficient in operating forklifts, cranes, and other heavy equipment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
  • Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes and order picking techniques.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 30 pounds) consistently throughout the shift.
  • Knowledge of safety standards related to materials handling and warehouse operations.
