JERA Americas Inc. is seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to join our team and support innovative trading solutions in the energy sector. You will be instrumental in developing high-performance trading systems, data analytics tools, and platform enhancements that enable JERA's strategic operations in gas and power markets across the Americas.

Position Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and enhancement of core trading and market data systems tailored for natural gas and power trading activities
  • Collaborate with traders, quantitative analysts, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
  • Develop and optimize real-time data feeds, trading APIs, and analytics dashboards to support informed decision-making
  • Architect robust, resilient, and secure systems that handle high volumes of market data with minimal latency
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in software development, testing, and deployment
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging trading technologies, and regulatory requirements affecting energy markets
  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, and regulatory standards for data security and handling
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong background in trading systems or financial technology
  • Proven expertise in languages such as Python, C++, Java, or similar
  • Deep understanding of natural gas and power markets, including trading mechanisms and regulatory environments
  • Hands-on experience with real-time data processing, APIs, cloud services, and system architecture
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to mentor team members
Qualifications Continued

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with industry-specific trading platforms.
  • Knowledge of energy market data vendors and real-time market feeds
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
