What are we looking for?

Techex is looking for a dynamic and highly motivated Senior Sales Manager, who is passionate about, and experienced in, the broadcast and media industry. The chosen candidate will be motivated to develop new business and grow the business to its next level. They will have a track record of creating and developing long term, deep relationships with premier broadcast clients to bring value and be a critical part of continuing to develop Techex's growth in the US. This strategic role will require an entrepreneurial mindset, a great network of contacts in the sector and high energy to deliver an ambitious growth plan.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record exceeding sales targets alongside demonstrating the ability to build and execute a sales strategy, network, and open new relationships, and consistently land, develop and expand new customers in the region.

The role.

  • Develop and implement the sales strategy according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate strategic growth in the US market.
  • Establish and build strong strategic and working relationships with business leaders at all levels and expand Techex reach and relationships across the entire target portfolio.
  • Partner with Techex solutions architects and support teams identify key aligned opportunities and in tandem deliver solutions using our software which takes customers to the next level.
  • Own, manage and monitor your target forecast as set out in the annual plan, achieving growth, and meeting annual, quarterly, or monthly sales targets.
  • Cover all strategic areas of an account to proactively identify new opportunities, efficiently move the opportunity through sales staging, and align and work with internal stakeholders to win the business.
  • Passionately present and demonstrate technology and solutions to customers at all levels with an emphasis on simplicity and transparency.
  • Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
  • Build continuous engagement through video calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
  • Build and maintain strong transparent working relationships with all Techex cross functional teams.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer questions, challenges, and inquiries.
  • Be a market and account expert, staying current on broadcast technology trends as well as strategic activity with your portfolio of accounts and targets.
  • Track changing trends, economic indicators, and competitor products.
  • Participate in trade shows and industry events.

Core Skills and expected behaviors.

  • Strong and demonstrable understanding of the global live broadcast and media industry, the end-to-end technology in live video workflows and trends in shifts to IP and cloud native technologies.
  • Excellent ability and intuition to identify opportunities and qualify (using standard practice) against Techex's software proposition with laser focus on bringing deals which are a strong combination of customer need and technology fit.
  • Full understanding of sales staging, lifecycle management, and high value sales activity.
  • Effectively communicate with client leaders of all levels.
  • Timely and thorough communication with internal teams.
  • Consistently and positively contribute in a fast-paced environment.
  • Develop and drive your own priorities and ensure deliverables and timelines are met.
  • Action focused, ability to efficiently manage across a full portfolio of accounts.
  • Organized and efficient and timely with CRM, notes, and internal and external communications.
  • Technology savvy and active learner who embraces continuous learning.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Excellent presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective planner, well organized, and detail oriented.
  • Consistently deliver on internal and external commitments.
  • Ability to be on site at customer locations and some international travel.

What you will need.

  • Demonstrable experience of sales and business development as well as account management in broadcast technology, IP, or cloud.
  • A track record of high opportunity conversion and delivering or exceeding sales targets/quota. Credible knowledge of video transformation, processing and workflows across contribution, distribution, production and playout and will be articulate in how live video is moved from source to glass.
  • Competent and coherent understanding of video encoding, multiplexing, compressed and uncompressed video.
  • Ability to learn complex technology concepts to a credible (customer value proposition) level.
  • Proven experience in problem solving, supporting customers with education and subject matter knowledge in complex cloud transition projects.
  • Preferred location: Remote based, West Coast.
