Summit Coffee is a quickly growing national coffee and lifestyle brand, and in addition to serving delicious specialty coffee, our Emory Village location features an on-site baking program. We are looking for someone with some previous baking experience; our baking program is small but delicious (think: scones, croissants, danishes, cookies, muffins), and our lead baker will train you up on our recipes ahead of time to make sure you know our menu and can reproduce them consistently. As a baker at Summit Coffee, you will also carry out Summit's culture, pushing forward our mission and exhibiting our core values in engagement with fellow staff, customers, community, and the brand in general. To accomplish this, you'll provide outstanding hospitality, serve high quality products, and work as part of a team.

Summit Coffee & Bakery is located in Emory Village, directly adjacent to Emory University.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • You have prior baking experience, ideally including experience prepping, shaping, and baking laminated pastries (croissants, danishes, etc.), and you'll be able to hit the ground running once we train you up on our recipes.
  • You are energized by working with others toward a common goal.
  • If you see a problem, you first try to fix it, and if you can't you make sure that someone else does.
  • You thrive while working with others and lift others up.
  • You can practice conflict resolution.
  • You are someone who will pick up trash even if it's not yours.
  • You are comfortable monitoring and staying engaged with Slack and other methods of company communication.

Structure + Compensation

  • The baking position is part-time hours per week) and, depending on your availability and our needs, may include early morning hours in order to ensure availability of fresh baked goods for the morning crowd.
  • Starting pay for the baking position is a flat hourly rate of $17.45.
  • You will receive a well-being stipend based on hours worked per quarter.
  • You will have access to free Summit coffee and tea, plus a 40% discount on other beverages, food, merchandise, and whole-bean coffee.
