AWS Bedrock Engineer

About The Role
As an AWS Bedrock Engineer, you'll make an impact by establishing and operationalizing secure, compliant, and scalable generative AI environments within AWS. Your expertise will directly shape how AI services such as Amazon Bedrock, Q Business, and Q Developer are integrated into enterprise workflows. You'll help the organization accelerate innovation while ensuring strong governance, responsible AI practices, and adherence to industry compliance standards like GDPR, HIPAA, and FedRAMP. You will be a valued member of the Cloud Infrastructure and Security team and work collaboratively with the Engagement Delivery Lead.

In This Role, You Will

• Configure and optimize Amazon Bedrock, Q Business, and Q Developer environments for enterprise use.
• Implement guardrails for content filtering, denied topics, and sensitive data protection.
• Automate infrastructure deployment using AWS CDK or CloudFormation.
• Apply IAM least-privilege access controls and enforce multi-factor authentication (MFA).
• Ensure data encryption in transit and at rest.
• Enable monitoring and logging for audit and regulatory compliance.
• Deploy Q Business with integrations to enterprise tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira).
• Configure dashboards and analytics for performance, adoption, and usage insights.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and optimize performance of deployed services.
• Validate model outputs using contextual grounding and automated reasoning techniques.
• Regularly review, test, and enhance content guardrail policies.
• Maintain compliance documentation and support AI governance reviews.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate Bedrock and Q services into enterprise workflows.
• Provide technical guidance, best practices, and detailed documentation for internal stakeholders.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Newark, New Jersey. What You Need To Have To Be Considered

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock.
• Strong experience with Amazon Q Business and Q Developer.
• Solid understanding of AWS IAM, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch.
• Proven experience implementing Security & Compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, FedRAMP.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools like AWS CDK or CloudFormation.

Salary And Other Compensation
Applications will be accepted until November 14, 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 - $116,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
