Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled HVAC Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems across various properties. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance of HVAC equipment, enhance property comfort, and uphold safety standards. Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), and other mechanical equipment.
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
  • Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems such as pipe fitting and leak detection to ensure seamless operation.
  • Conduct field service visits for routine maintenance or urgent repairs at client sites or property facilities.
  • Utilize tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and welding equipment for component repairs or modifications.
  • Diagnose mechanical failures using specialized equipment and perform necessary repairs or replacements efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Assist with property maintenance tasks when needed, including appliance repair and general mechanical support.
  • Operate company vehicles safely as a driver when traveling between job sites.
  • Support the installation of HVAC/R systems by following safety protocols and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving HVAC design modifications or upgrades.
  • Stay current with industry advancements in HVAC technology, refrigeration techniques (including ammonia systems), and building codes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an HVAC Service Technician or in a similar construction or property maintenance role.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair, welding, boiler operation, and system troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with schematics, blueprints, HVAC design principles, and electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters.
  • Experience working with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of plumbing processes related to HVAC installations and repairs.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and interpret schematics accurately for precise diagnostics.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating company vehicles as a driver preferred.
  • Excellent field service skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and documenting work performed.
  • Physical ability to perform demanding tasks such as lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, welding, and working in confined spaces.
  • Certifications in HVAC/R technology are preferred; ongoing training in new systems is encouraged.
