What You Can ExpectENGIE Supply & Energy Management (SEM) is responsible for managing the portfolio of gas, electricity, congestion revenues rights and environmental products for ENGIE, across geographies. More recently, SEM has extended his scope to also manage all the market risks (energy, congestion, RECs, ancillaries) generated by the Renewable and Battery Storage Assets owned by ENGIE North America, which includes wind farms, solar farms, and storage units. The Power Portfolio Management team is precisely the group in charge of these activities.The Asset Backed Trading group is responsible for the pricing and managing the risks associated with the power generation and retail business across the United States. We are looking for a Trader to join the team to build quantitative trading strategies in Southwest Power Pool (SPP), Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) and Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland Interconnection (PJM) designed to optimize asset performance in Day-Ahead (DA) and Real-Time (RT) markets.We are looking for a highly skilled Trader to join our growing team. As a Trader in Houston, TX, you will report to the Head of Asset Backed Trading. You will be responsible for optimizing battery, solar, wind, and supply exposure to DA and RT markets across Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT).Execute trades in DA and RT markets within ERCOTAnalyze market trends, price movements, and supply-demand dynamics to identify trading opportunitiesDevelop and implement trading strategies to optimize portfolio performanceMonitor and manage risk associated with trading activitiesCollaborate with the analytics team to enhance trading models and toolsUtilize Python or R to automate trading processes and improve efficiencyPrepare and present trading reports and performance analysis to senior managementWhat You'll BringBachelor's degree in which you completed courses in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum of 2 years of experience in power market trading, specifically in SPP, MISO, and/or PJMProven track record of successful DA/RT spread tradingStrong coding skills in Python or RExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work under pressure and make quick decisions.Strong communication and teamwork skillsFamiliarity with relational database platform (Oracle, MS SQL, Postgres)Experience in collaborative software development environment (version tracking with Git, code reviews)Ability to write clean, maintainable, tested and shippable production codeAbility to cooperate with other engineers and focus on team goalsAbility to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracyAbility to meet highest attendance requirementsAbility to communicate effectively, both written and verballyAdditional DetailsThis role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; working 4 days in the officeMust be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies;CompensationSalary Range: $113,900 – $174,570 USD annuallyThis represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
