Infusion Patient Claims Resolution Specialist

The Patient Balance Collector is responsible for the daily follow up of assigned Client Patient Balances. They adhere to the Client Patient Statement schedule and all other Client specific patient balances procedures. They have attention to detail and can maintain assigned work queues, voice mail logs, and other various patient balance best practice guidelines.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Review patient balance to confirm accuracy
  • Contact patients to collect outstanding balances
  • Document account status in the company and client systems based on collection action taken
  • Change Status to next appropriate level based on phone call outcome
  • Process patient payments as per established guidelines
  • Send patient statements based on client statement schedule and prepare and submit adjustments as required
  • Make a minimum of sixty (60) calls to patients per day
  • Availability during department month-end blackout periods
  • Meet all requirements and timelines per service level agreements.

o 1st Statement – Within 2 weeks of the balance dropping to Patient Balance

o Return Calls with 48 hours (about 2 days) of receiving voicemail

o Work Queue - Current

  • Meet quality, productivity, individual and department goals as determined by
  • Work within specified deadlines and stressful situations
  • Understand and adhere to HIPAA guidelines and all applicable state and federal regulations and company policies
  • Responsible for professional and effective verbal and written communication with both internal and external customers
  • Work overtime as necessary to meet department goals and objectives
  • Perform other tasks or special projects as assigned or deemed necessary
  • Cultivate a positive and collaborative team culture, encouraging professional growth and development
  • Exhibit a willingness to learn, problem solve and assist others while openly and actively participating in the culture
