About the Role
As a Math Tutor at Braintrust Tutors, you'll work with students to strengthen their mathematical reasoning, number sense, and problem-solving strategies. You'll provide engaging, consistent lessons using Braintrust Tutors curriculum and materials, helping students build foundational math skills and confidence.

Typical Schedule/Availability Requirement:
- 12-14 weeks
- Approximately 3 days per week
- School-day hours
Requirements: PET's Clearance: Must be PET's cleared or willing to obtain PET's clearance via fingerprinting process (Braintrust Tutors will facilitate and pay); additional requirements vary by Engagement
What You Will Do
- Provide small-group or 1:1 math tutoring to elementary or middle school school students
- Implement Braintrust Tutors intervention programs as designed, using all materials with fidelity
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic performance
- Collaborate with the Braintrust Tutors Operations team and school staff to support student growth
- Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment that promotes focus and confidence
- Follow school-site procedures and policies while maintaining a professional and dependable presence
- Use provided assessments and progress monitoring tools for understanding to guide instruction
- Manage time effectively during sessions to complete all planned instructional activities
What You Will Have
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Active or expired teaching license
- Knowledge of math instruction that builds number sense, procedural fluency, and problem-solving skills, with a scope and sequence ranging from counting to multi-digit arithmetic, including decimals and fractions.
- Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Comfort collaborating with teachers and staff
- Punctuality, professionalism, and reliability for all scheduled sessions
- Reliable transportation and/or appropriate technology for virtual instruction (depending on placement)
- Passion for math and closing opportunity gaps
