Position Description:

The Senior Product Owner is responsible for ensuring the success of one or more products by maximizing the value delivered by the development team. Working within a Scrum framework, this role involves defining and prioritizing the product backlog, clearly expressing requirements, and facilitating communication between business stakeholders and technical teams. The Senior Product Owner leads cross-functional collaboration, drives product strategy, and ensures alignment with customer and business goals. This position requires strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, as well as a solid understanding of Agile practices.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define, own, and continuously refine the product vision and roadmap based on business objectives and user needs.
  • Maintain, prioritize, and groom the product backlog to maximize value delivery.
  • Create detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Lead all Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, project/product managers, UX, development, and QA teams.
  • Translate complex business needs into actionable requirements.
  • Evaluate and measure product success through key performance indicators (KPIs) and user feedback.
  • Make independent decisions on product direction and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Contribute to release planning and go-to-market strategies.
  • Mentor junior product owners or team members as needed.
  • Promote continuous improvement in product processes and team delivery.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or related role in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM), or similar Agile certification.
  • Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally).
  • Experience with enterprise-level software products or platforms.
  • Familiarity with UX/UI design principles and user-centric development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Job Requirements:
  • Ability to work in an office environment (remote or onsite) with extended screen time.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively via video conferencing, phone, and written correspondence.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project or business needs.

Reports To: Director of eCommerce Product Management

Environment: Work environment is remote during regular or extended business hours.
