Clinical Placement Coordinator

The School of Nursing graduate program seeks a clinical placement coordinator to work in collaboration with the Associate Dean of Clinical Education and Associate Dean for Graduate Programs to coordinate all aspects of the student's clinical placements for the graduate program.

  • Collaborates with Associate Deans, Program Directors and Course Coordinators to assess placement needs and identify appropriate placement sites and preceptors for the graduate program
  • Establish and maintain clinical sites affiliations with the support of Associate Dean of Clinical Education and University affiliations team
  • Coordinate student placement requests, including the use of the Central Clinical Placement (CCP) system as required
  • Serves as the primary contact for clinical site representatives and healthcare organizations for the graduate program
  • Manage student clinical compliance and clearance (CORI checks, CPR verification, health clearance, etc.) prior to the start of clinical placements
  • Develop and host clinical placement policy and procedure overview sessions for new graduate students
  • Prepares reports as requested related to School of Nursing clinical placements
  • Maintains support for faculty and students in clinical settings
  • Develops and maintains tracking databases (preceptor, clinical sites, affiliation agreements, etc.)
  • Corresponds with faculty, students, and clinical partners regarding clinical experiences
  • Participates in accreditation site visits, audits and program reviews as needed
  • Assist with School of Nursing and graduate program events and residencies on the Worcester campus
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor

Requirements:

Required:

  • A Bachelor's degree/equivalent experience
  • Strong organizational, administrative and database skills
  • Proficiency in the use of computers including MS WORD, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure accuracy of work
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical office or administrative working conditions. Not exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Work is primarily sedentary in nature; there are no special physicaldemands.
  • Work requires sitting, standing and walking.
  • Must be able to use technology, such as typing and manipulating a mouse/mouse pad
  • Must be comfortable with keeping camera on and recording synchronous meetings
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs
