Outpatient Mental Health Clinician

VC is looking for provisionally or fully licensed counselors (see below) for a hybrid in-person/telehealth position providing mental health counseling to individuals and families in a private practice role.

While we also have an office in Ellicott City, this job post is specifically for our new Hampden location.

Maryland Licensure Requirements

• All candidates must hold current licensure in the state of Maryland.
• The following provisional licensures are acceptable: LGPC, LGMFT, LMSW, LGPAT.
• The following full licensures are acceptable: LCPC, LCMFT, LCSW-C, LCPAT.
• We are not accepting applications for internship or other mental health related/adjacent licenses in this job posting.

Telehealth Specific Requirements

• This opening is for a hybrid in-person/ telehealth position.
• New hires are expected to provide their own laptop/computer with audio/video capability (i.e., webcam) for use during sessions.
• Telehealth therapists are expected to be on-camera, visible, professionally dressed, and engaged at all times during a session.
• Sessions require uninterrupted internet access and a distraction-free, HIPAA-compliant environment to provide the best experience for our clients.
• Please note that Village Counseling does not provide reimbursement for remote work equipment or services.

In-person Specific Requirements

• Successful applicants should expect to commute to the Hampden office for at least 50% of their scheduled sessions. They will also be able to conduct telehealth sessions on-site.
• New hires will be placed on a master office calendar denoting which office they are to use on any given day.
• While you will not be expected to share an office space during sessions, you should expect other clinicians to utilize the same space during their own scheduled hours.

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Provide high-quality, compassionate, and ethical outpatient mental health therapy to clients as scheduled.
• Complete clinical documentation within 48 hours of the date of service (recommended to be completed daily)
• Actively participate as a positive member of the clinical environment.
• Maintain good standing with the appropriate board and insurance entities.
• Complete all recommended continuing education requirements
• Stay current with updated research and best practices.
• Be aware of community referral sources and refer when necessary.
• Secure client information per HIPAA standards.
• Maintain case files within Electronic Health Record (EHR) that are up to date as described in the Job Expectations handout.
• Perform other duties as assigned (including but not limited to completion of Social Security/Disability forms, authorization and billing forms, phone calls, and participating in case consultation meetings).
