Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. This role involves ensuring the availability of IT infrastructure and services while implementing best practices in system administration and information security. The Systems Administrator will work closely with cross-functional teams to support various applications and systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our IT operations.

Duties

  • Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and networking components.
  • Oversee system administration tasks across various operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and UNIX.
  • Implement and manage RAID controllers for data redundancy and performance optimization.
  • Design and maintain service-oriented architecture (SOA) solutions to enhance system interoperability.
  • Develop solution architecture for enterprise applications, including those utilizing Pegasystems.
  • Ensure high availability through load balancing techniques and virtualization technologies like VMware and Kubernetes.
  • Administer databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Implement security measures including firewalls, VPNs, DNS management, and information security protocols.
  • Collaborate with development teams using Agile methodologies to support CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins and Git.
  • Write scripts in Bash (Unix shell), Python, or JavaScript for automation of routine tasks.
  • Troubleshoot system issues promptly to minimize downtime while adhering to SDLC practices.

Experience

Candidates should possess a strong background in systems engineering with a focus on IT infrastructure management. A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred. Experience with the following technologies is essential:

  • System architecture design principles
  • RESTful APIs and microservices
  • Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Networking concepts including DHCP and computer networking fundamentals
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases
  • Proficiency in scripting languages for automation tasks

  • Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
