Hydrualic Mobile Hose Technician

We're looking for a Hydraulic Mobile Hose Technician to join our team and help keep our customers up and running. This hands-on, field-based role performs critical hydraulic hose repairs directly on customer sites. As a trusted technical expert and the face of our company in the field, you'll diagnose issues, complete safe and efficient repairs, and deliver the kind of service that builds lasting customer relationships. Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operate a fully equipped mobile service van to perform on-site hydraulic and hose repairs and replacements.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, components, and hose assemblies to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical drawings to troubleshoot and perform accurate repairs.
• Use precision measuring instruments, gauges, and diagnostic tools to assess system functionality
• Cut, crimp, and assemble new hose assemblies and fittings to exact specifications.
• Maintain vehicle inventory, tools, and fittings while ensuring cleanliness, organization, and readiness for service calls.
• Accurately document work performed, including parts used, labor, and service reports, using company systems.
• Maintain daily service logs and records in accordance with company procedures.
• Communicate professionally with customers, explaining repairs, providing recommendations, and reinforcing the value of preventative maintenance.
• Coordinate with dispatch or branch management to prioritize service calls and meet response-time goals.
• Identify additional service or sales opportunities while on-site to further support customer operations.
• Follow all company and safety procedures, maintaining a clean, safe work environment at all times.
• Participate in after-hours or emergency on-call rotations as needed.

Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with hose cutting, crimping, and assembly tools, precision measuring instruments, and related diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to apply basic math and measurement concepts to hydraulic calculations, hose lengths, and fitting specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a safety-first mindset.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with a professional and approachable demeanor.
• Demonstrates professionalism, dependability, and teamwork; maintains integrity and a customer-first approach in all interactions.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use company systems for documentation, reporting, and communication.

• Comfortable performing physical work and adapting to changing conditions outdoors or on customer sites.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade training in hydraulics, mechanics, or industrial maintenance preferred.
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in hydraulic hose repair, mobile equipment service, or a related mechanical field.
• Proven experience reading schematics and working with hydraulic components preferred.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Work in a variety of industrial and outdoor environments, including exposure to moving mechanical parts, hydraulic fluids, weather conditions, and moderate noise levels.
• Travel daily to customer sites in a company-provided service vehicle.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional nights, weekends, or emergency service calls.
• All required safety gear, tools, and training provided.

Salary Range: up to $28/hr + commission based on experience
