Description

The Goizueta Business School at Emory University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Manager to lead and support its dynamic IT infrastructure. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee and enhance the school's server environments, leveraging advanced virtualization technologies and cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will bring over five years of hands-on experience in Windows/Linux systems management, Active Directory support, and application support within multi-user environments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages and supervises a small team of Information Technology experts.
  • Designs and installs information systems and develops procedures to support division operations.
  • Advises management on IT issues to ensure compliance and uniform systems across the division and enterprise.
  • Works closely with other area managers and directors to ensure smooth and transparent processes and systems.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

  • Deliver advanced technical support for server environments, including diagnosing and resolving complex issues.
  • Administer virtualization technologies such as Microsoft Hyper-V and cloud platforms.
  • Install and maintain applications within multi-user environments.
  • Manage Windows and Linux operating systems following best practices, including routine maintenance, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide end-user support for server and network-related issues.
  • Oversee Active Directory environments (cloud and on-premises), including group policy management.
  • Conduct maintenance and resource planning for cloud infrastructure, virtualization platforms, and storage area networks.
  • Ensure backup and disaster recovery systems are properly implemented and functioning.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues using standard networking protocols and concepts.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network devices and related equipment.
  • Perform server hardware maintenance, including installation and component replacement.
  • Maintain server and network security through continuous monitoring and timely patching.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree and five years of related IT experience including project management and lead or supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Deliver expert-level technical support for server infrastructure, resolving complex system issues efficiently.
  • Administer and support virtualization platforms, including Microsoft Hyper-V and cloud-based environments.
  • Install, configure, and maintain applications in multi-user systems.
  • Manage Windows and Linux operating systems, ensuring optimal performance through routine maintenance, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide end-user assistance for server and network-related concerns.
  • Oversee Active Directory environments (both cloud and on-premises), including group policy configuration and management.
  • Conduct maintenance and capacity planning for cloud services, virtualization platforms, and storage area networks.
  • Ensure robust backup and disaster recovery protocols are in place and functioning effectively.
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues using standard networking protocols and concepts.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and devices.
  • Perform server hardware maintenance, including installation and component replacement.
  • Maintain server and network security through proactive monitoring and regular patching.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
