Responsibilities

  • Researches, evaluates, interprets, and provides recommendation regarding Investment Planning Services policies, practices, projects, products, and/or procedures
  • Analyzes trends and provides recommendations for improving procedural and training effectiveness to meet department and company business needs with a primary focus on the Suitability/Principal Review function
  • Fosters and maintains relationships with internal/external business partners and customers
  • Establishes, documents, maintains, and communicates business procedures
  • Develops creditability and collaborative relationships in Broker Dealer operations, Regulatory Compliance and with business partners
  • Actively seeks input on critical decisions to achieve buy-in, on-going support, and cooperation to promote enterprise compliance

Qualifications

  • Experience in broker dealer operations with an understanding of applicable laws and regulations dealing with investment securities, mutual funds, stocks, bonds, etc.
  • Preferred Experience and knowledge of Suitability/Principal Review or in Investment Producer Sales
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Finance, Financial Planning, or Insurance related field
  • 4+ years preferred in Finance, Insurance, or another related field
  • Ability to quickly understand new concepts, interpret, analyze, and report across multiple areas
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of work product, including development of deliverables and executive summaries for various audiences
  • Technical agility, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • High degree of initiative and accountability with ability to meet primary responsibilities, timelines, and effective dates with limited direction and oversight
  • Written and verbal experience communicating effectively with all levels of leadership
  • Ability to decipher and communicate risk and compliance topics to obtain buy-in, ownership, and drive action to achieve results
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work based on business needs
  • Ability to communicate priorities and/or associated conflicts, and must appropriately escalate issues to business partners, stakeholders, team members, and/or leadership
  • Great relationship building and teamwork skills - maintaining relationships and communication with key business partners and team members regarding ongoing efforts and department initiatives, and assisting other team members and peers when needed

License, Background Check and Credit Check Information

  • Will be required to possess and/or obtain a Securities Industries Essentials (SIE) and Series 6 license
  • Fingerprint, credit check and background check is required for sponsorship of FINRA licensing
  • Continued employment requires incumbents to receive sponsorship from State Farm VP Management Corp. Incumbents must also be registered and remain in good standing as required by State Farm VP Management Corp. and the FINRA. This includes successfully completing all applicable FINRA exam(s) and state exams required by the state in which you are employed
  • Selected candidates will be required to sign a Securities Registration Agreement
  • Employees may be required to sign the Acknowledgement of Policy on Personal Account Transactions

  • Potential starting salary range: $55,000 - $100,000

  • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience

  • High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
