New Albany Cancer CenterFull Time 40 weekly hours, day shift
Job Summary:The Clinic Charge Nurse is an experienced Registered Nurse who displays leadership, management and communication skills. He/she will provide leadership to the Medical Assistants, delegate assignments and provide supervision in accordance with their level of training.
He/she will be responsible for the communication and implementation of Physician orders through the EMR. Provide Clinical support to the Infusion nurses as needed.
The Clinic Charge Nurse promotes positive patient outcomes, quality of care and initiates change through active involvement in unit-based.
He/she optimizes the use of team resources by establishing patient priorities and advising the medical assistants, nurse practitioners, and physicians of patients' needs. He/she utilizes critical thinking skills and exercises appropriate nursing judgment. Also, the charge nurse will serve as a role model by actively participating in the process of continuous professional development, teaching and learning across the healthcare continuum.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
A. Experience:
1. Two years relevant patient-care experience required.
2. Prior experience as charge nurse preferred
3. Active Indiana RN license
4. BLS Certification Required
5. ONS Chemo/ Biotherapy Certification Required
6. OCN preferred
