The Account Manager - Utilities is a mid-level sales position who serves as the primary relationship owner for an assigned group of utility industry accounts (Electric, Natural Gas, Water, Waste Management, etc…) with responsibility for retention and growth. Ensuring our clients derive maximum value from our services. Prepare proposals, implementation plans and lead client on-boarding; present suggested client strategy and annual plan. Work closely with clients to identify needs and consult on best practices for solutions and implementation.
This position serves as the primary contact for utility clients and is responsible for client satisfaction, including strategic planning responsibilities. This position is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service and leadership to accounts, as well as represent company goals within the organization to ensure quality.
ResponsibilitiesIncluding the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Increase sales volume within existing and new utility customers through account penetration and secures new business
- Ensure customer satisfaction and customer retention through consistent, productive account calls and presentations
- Responsible for up selling programs, including Paving Maintenance Programs and the company's entire line of services, into current client base
- Represent the company (and Pave America) by consistently demonstrating the understanding and modeling of company's mission and values
- Stay abreast of and learns about new products, programs, and services available to clients in the territory and for applying or utilizing them whenever appropriate or timely
- Align the overall company paving/concrete solutions to the customer's needs, challenges, and technical requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills: writing, editing, and presenting
- Build and maintain a consistently strong pipeline for local market growth
- Some local travel may be required

- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience preferred;
- Minimum of 2 years successful experience as a direct contributor carrying an individual quota;
- Experience in construction and/or paving and concrete work is preferred but not required;
- Ability and experience selling to Manager levels within an organization;
- Effective problem solving and decision-making skills;
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and relationship skills;
- Organization and time management skills;
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned annual/quarterly goals and targets;
- Attentive to forecasting and business reporting responsibilities;
- At least an intermediate level in using Microsoft Office products. Especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
