About the Role

The McGee CPA Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our accounting department in maintaining accurate books and records for assigned clients. This role involves performing general bookkeeping duties, assisting with financial reporting, and supporting our tax team as needed.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple client engagements in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain general ledgers and perform bank/credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review financial reports.
  • Enter and process transactions via QuickBooks, Sage Accounting, or ScanWriter.
  • Assist with client onboarding, time tracking, and project deadlines.
  • Support the tax department on special projects as needed.
  • Analyze and recommend improvements to accounting procedures.
  • Participate in engagement review meetings to assess budgets and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in public accounting or private industry.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel required.
  • Experience with Sage Accounting and ScanWriter is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organization and communication abilities.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday (on-site)
  • Occasional weekend hours during peak periods, such as tax season or client deadlines.

Work Environment

  • On-site position based in Atlanta, GA.
  • Collaborative, professional, and fast-paced.
  • The role may occasionally require additional hours or weekend work to meet client or filing deadlines.
