Rehab Authorization Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Rehab Authorization Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the therapy team by verifying benefits, securing authorizations, and assisting with administrative responsibilities to ensure a smooth patient experience. This is a full-time, non-clinical position based in Columbia, TN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify therapy benefits and obtain authorizations for treatments.
- Support the Workers' Compensation process by coordinating with appropriate personnel for visit approvals and submitting clinical documentation.
- Cross-train and assist at the therapy front desk, including:
- Answering phones
- Scheduling appointments
- Assisting with patient check-in/out
- Completing rehab reports
- Providing payment estimates and collecting account payments
- Process and submit patient paperwork related to DME (Durable Medical Equipment).
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required rehab reports.
- Respond to and address clinical tasking needs promptly.
- Communicate professionally with patients (in person and by phone) and team members to support excellent customer service.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of:
- Electronic documentation systems
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Rehab-specific billing guidelines
Requirements
- Prior experience collecting co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance, and outstanding balances.
- Knowledge of insurance processes and terminology.
- Familiarity with administrative and clerical workflows.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using NextGen software.
