JOB PURPOSE
A barista at The Chloe is responsible for creating exceptional experiences by providing warm, engaging, and personalized service to all guests. This role requires a passion for hospitality, crafting and serving quality hot and cold coffee beverages, alcoholic beverages and the ability to engage with guests to deliver memorable experiences, and a commitment to upholding The Chloe's standards of 21st Century Southern Hospitality. The ideal candidate is attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about food and beverage. Also, embodying The Chloe's core values, maintaining a clean and organized bar environment, ensuring accurate cash handling, and contributing to the overall success of the restaurant and bar operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service and Engagement:
- Provide a warm, welcoming, and engaging experience for guests throughout The Chloe.
- Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, serving coffee beverages and specialty orders, while offering recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Create a lively and enjoyable atmosphere, promoting guest interaction and satisfaction.
- Have a sound understanding of the properties outlets, rooms and f&b offerings should I guest ask questions about the property.
Food & Beverage Preparation and Presentation:
- Prepare and serve hot and cold coffee beverages, according to standard recipes and The Chloe's quality standards.
- Maintain knowledge of all coffee offerings and provide guests and team members with accurate information and recommendations.
- Have a strong knowledge of our breakfast food offerings and of The Chloe's beverage menu and cocktails.
- Garnish and present drinks in an aesthetically pleasing manner, enhancing the guest experience.
- Cleaning and restocking work areas, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils.
Inventory and Stock Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory levels by regularly monitoring and restocking coffee supplies, including ingredients, equipment, chinaware, and disposables, communicating with management as needed.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies or shortages to the Beverage Director.
Cash Handling and Financial Transactions:
- Accurately process guest payments, including cash, credit card, and room charges, using the restaurant's point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer and reconcile transactions at the end of each shift.
- Follow cash handling procedures and report any discrepancies immediately.
Cleanliness and Safety Compliance:
- Maintain a clean and organized barista area, ensuring all workstations, equipment, and glassware are sanitized and ready for use.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including responsible service, and comply with all local, state, and federal laws.
- Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or guest incidents to the management.
Collaboration and Team Support:
- Work closely with management, servers, kitchen staff, and other team members to ensure seamless service flow and guest satisfaction.
- Assist in training new baristas, sharing knowledge and best practices to support their development.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to enhance the bar's operations and guest experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior barista experience recommended.
- Toast POS experience is helpful
- Be able to stand for long periods of time, remain organized, and think quickly and effectively.
- Solid understanding of food ingredients and allergens.
- Ability to carry a drink tray or multiple dishes of food to tables.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations with poise.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
COMPENSATION
Hourly : $10 to $12 + Tip Pool
