Platform Enablement Engineer

Risepoint is looking for a Platform Enablement Engineer to design and scale secure, automated delivery systems across our engineering organization. In this role, you'll define strategy for CI/CD platforms, optimize GitHub workflows, and introduce intelligent automation that reduces manual effort, enforces compliance through code, and accelerates delivery at scale.

This is an influence leadership role—not people management. You'll mentor engineers, establish best practices, and create systems that rely on automation, guardrails, and feedback loops rather than manual oversight.

Your mission: simplify processes, improve reliability, and embed security and intelligence into every stage of software delivery.

Core Responsibilities

Pipeline Automation & Guardrails

• Design and scale reusable CI/CD patterns using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions, embedding compliance, quality checks, and security scanning as code.
• Implement advanced pipeline optimizations such as predictive caching, anomaly detection for flaky tests, and automated root-cause analysis from telemetry.
• Replace manual deployment tracking with automated release identification, audit trails, and observability-driven metrics.
• Shift governance into automation through policy-as-code and automated verification, enabling teams to move quickly while staying compliant.

GitHub Platform Enablement

• Lead GitHub governance initiatives: repository classification, metadata enrichment, and detection of permission drift.
• Automate repo lifecycle management—creation, archival, and permission hygiene—with telemetry and ownership tracking.
• Build telemetry pipelines for organization-wide insights into velocity, compliance, and contribution health.

Release & Change Management

• Transform CAB processes into data-driven release readiness checks using inputs from Jira, GitHub, and TestRail.
• Enable self-service release approvals through automated evidence gathering and risk scoring.
• Integrate security, testing, and rollback controls directly into release workflows for dynamic, risk-based gating.

DevSecOps & Security Integration

• Embed static/dynamic analysis, secrets scanning, and dependency health checks into every build.
• Collaborate with AppSec to improve vulnerability triage and implement automated fix recommendations.
• Scale secure-by-default practices using supply chain telemetry, drift detection, and compliance-as-code.

Continuous Improvement & Automation

• Identify manual or judgment-heavy processes and convert them into automated, measurable workflows.
• Experiment with workflow assistants and automation tools for pipeline management, audit reporting, and root-cause analysis.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement using data and feedback loops to enhance delivery speed and security posture.

What You'll Bring

• 7+ years in DevOps, SRE, or DevSecOps roles supporting enterprise-scale delivery systems.
• Proven experience designing self-service platforms, reusable pipelines, and policy-as-code frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, IaC (Terraform/Helm), and secure CI/CD practices.
• Systems thinking and curiosity—you look for leverage points, not toil points.
• Ability to influence automation, documentation, and enablement.
• Excellent technical leadership and mentorship skills; clear communication and vision alignment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with incident and reliability automation (e.g., automated RCA, remediation workflows, observability-driven deployment gates).
• Exposure to AI/ML Ops pipelines, including security and compliance for model delivery and data workflows.
• Familiarity with GitHub Apps, Actions SDKs, or platform extensibility for building automation services.
