Estimating Manager – Civil Construction

Location: San Antonio, TX

Schedule: Full-time, 5 days a week (in-office)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead our estimating department in San Antonio. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional with a strong background in civil construction projects and a passion for precision, leadership, and collaboration.

The Chief of Estimating will oversee all aspects of the estimating process, ensuring competitive and accurate bids while managing a team of 7–10 professionals. You'll play a key leadership role in driving project success and profitability, working closely with senior management and reporting directly to the Vice President.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 7–10 professionals across multiple project types.
  • Oversee preparation of detailed cost estimates and bid packages for civil construction projects.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and bid documents to determine scope and requirements.
  • Manage the bid process, from initial inquiry to final submission, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and executives to align estimating strategy with business goals.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to obtain competitive pricing and insights.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and consistency across estimates.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in estimating within the civil construction industry.
  • Proven experience leading and managing teams of 7+ professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of bidding and procurement processes for infrastructure, road, or utility projects.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.

Pay: $120, $150,000.00 per year
