Job Description

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Logistics Patrol in Laurel, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help maintain a secure environment for all personnel and property. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents, and you will interact with visitors and employees to provide outstanding customer service. You will use technology and clear communication to support access control and other security-related tasks. Pay Rate: $15.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the logistics and distribution location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and report any suspicious activity or security-related incidents according to established procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and communicate with site staff to support a secure working environment.
  • Complete written reports and documentation of daily patrols, incidents, and/or observations as required.
  • Assist with emergency response protocols and collaborate with local authorities and Allied Universal management when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
