We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with a deep understanding of Oracle RDBMS and expertise in database administration, performance optimization, and high availability solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure reliable database operation including monitoring disk space, managing backups, implementing logging, organizing database mirroring, clustering, creating high-availability groups, and resolving database-related incidents
  • Manage hundreds of database instances while ensuring successful execution of tasks like backups, restoration, disaster recovery plans, and reporting
  • Perform hands-on proactive fine-tuning to optimize the performance of SQL database servers
  • Regularly verify and maintain backup scenarios ensuring full data integrity and recovery readiness
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues across a range of areas including database integrity, performance, blocking/deadlocking, replication, log shipping, connectivity, and security
  • Manage and optimize large-scale databases including efficient index and statistics management
  • Automate routine database administration tasks and processes using scripts and tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively, and maintain clear technical documentation
  • Stay updated with emerging trends, tools, and best practices in database administration

Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in database administration for Oracle RDBMS (versions 10-19)
  • Troubleshooting Expertise: Proven ability to resolve complex database issues including performance tuning, deadlocking, integrity maintenance, and connectivity challenges
  • Performance Optimization: Proficient in performance tuning and optimization using native Oracle monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager, console, scripts)
  • Disaster Recovery: Strong knowledge of High Availability (HA) setups, clustering, disaster recovery models, and backup/restore processes
  • Automation and Scripting: Experience automating administrative tasks using scripts
  • Data Warehousing: Familiarity with managed data warehouses and query stores
  • Large Database Management: Knowledge of Very Large Database (VLDB) maintenance and optimization
  • Indexing: Expertise in index management and statistical analysis for database efficiency
  • Documentation: Strong communication skills with the ability to produce clear and detailed technical documentation

  • Understanding of ITIL practices particularly in Continual Service Improvement and data warehousing concepts
