Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Enrolled Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tax accounting and public accounting, with the ability to represent clients before the IRS. This role requires a deep understanding of financial concepts, tax regulations, and various accounting practices. The Enrolled Agent will be responsible for providing expert advice on tax matters, preparing tax returns, and ensuring compliance with federal and state tax laws.

Duties

  • Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals, businesses, and non-profits.
  • Represent clients during audits and other interactions with the IRS.
  • Provide guidance on estate planning, wills, trusts, and estate law.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to support tax planning strategies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Assist clients with financial reporting, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting.
  • Offer insights into mergers & acquisitions and corporate accounting matters.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient bookkeeping and financial statement preparation.
  • Collaborate with clients on budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, and asset management tasks.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and interpret findings for clients.

Skills

The successful candidate will possess a diverse skill set that includes:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and financial software tools.
  • Expertise in auditing practices and account reconciliation techniques.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience in financial sales or services is a plus.
  • Excellent analysis skills for interpreting financial reports and data.
  • Understanding of securities law, private equity, and non-profit accounting practices.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex information to clients.
