Job Overview

BD is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Microbiology Instrument Sales Specialist to drive growth and revenue in the TN, NC, SC, KY, WV, and VA territories. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans, effectively communicating product features and benefits, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to achieve sales targets and customer satisfaction.

Requirements
  • Develop and implement territory and strategic account sales plans involving multiple stakeholders and buyers to drive growth of assigned products
  • Effectively deploy clinically relevant product features, benefits, and economic justification to define the value of BD's product offerings
  • Achieve growth targets and drive new revenue goals in the assigned territory
  • Collaborate with BD's customer-facing associates, distribution partners, and cross-functional teams to support customer growth and retention
  • Manage the sales process involving clinical laboratories, infectious disease clinicians, pharmacy, and hospital administration
  • Forecast activity, sales funnel, and new business closes as required by management
  • Provide continuous support, including post-sales activities and successful installation coordination
  • Adhere to BD's Values, Code of Conduct, and industry regulations
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, biological areas, business, or a related field is required.
  • A degree in Medical Technology (MT ASCP) or Microbiology is preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of documented sales success (top 20%) in a broad range of laboratory products, with at least 2 years of clinical laboratory and/or hospital capital sales experience
  • A combination of clinical market sales, financial, or technical selling experience is required
Skills
  • Strong track record of achieving capital sales quotas and developing capital contracts
  • Knowledge of the selling process and components to build and maintain customer loyalty
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and closing skills, including direct sales, distribution channel, and team selling approach
  • Strong organizational skills, territory management, account assessment, and relationship development
  • Analytical and financial orientation applicable to contract proposals, profitability, budget, and expense management
  • Ability to develop markets for new technology and medical practices
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office applications, , Power BI, and connectivity devices
  • Valid state-issued driver's license and adherence to BD's auto safety standards
