Systems Administrator

General Description:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive part-time IT Systems Administrator with deep expertise in Microsoft Office 365 to join our IT team. This role is responsible for the administration, support, and optimization of our Office 365 environment, along with general systems administration duties across our IT infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrates our One Team philosophy of Passion, Accountability, Customer Focus, and Teamwork.
  • Manage and maintain Office 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Intune.
  • Administer user accounts, licenses, groups, and permissions via Microsoft 365 Admin Center and PowerShell.
  • Monitor service health, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with Microsoft support when needed.
  • Implement and manage security policies, MFA, conditional access, and data loss prevention (DLP).
  • Support email hygiene and compliance using Microsoft Defender and Exchange Online Protection.

Systems Administration:

  • Maintain and support Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability of IT services.
  • Perform routine maintenance, patching, and updates across servers and endpoints.
  • Assist with backup and disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Support end-user computing environments and resolve escalated technical issues.

Collaboration & Projects:

  • Work closely with IT leadership to plan and implement infrastructure upgrades and cloud migrations.
  • Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Provide training and guidance to helpdesk and support staff on Office 365 tools and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in IT systems administration with a focus on Office 365.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem and PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V or VMware).
  • Familiarity with endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Intune or SCCM.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-102, AZ-104, or equivalent).
  • Experience with hybrid Exchange environments.
  • Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) and Zero Trust principles.

  • The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, communicate with others.
  • The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
  • The employee must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs.
  • The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed in light of the strong focus on external communications and relationships.
