Job Summary

The Senior C# Developer will play a critical role in building the next generation of our school and senior portrait photography platform. This individual will design, develop, and optimize .NET services that power our ordering, identity, and ID card systems. Working closely with business analysts, product owners, and architects, the Senior C# Developer ensures our applications are secure, scalable, and aligned with our mission to help people capture and share meaningful moments.

Job Description

The Senior C# Developer is responsible for building high-quality software using .NET 8, contributing to the architecture of backend services, and integrating with cross-functional systems including Python microservices, React frontends, and AWS cloud services. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong collaboration, and the ability to translate requirements into robust, production-ready solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using
    C#/.NET 8
    (API-first, microservices architecture).
  • Collaborate with business analysts and product owners to translate requirements into
    technical specifications
    and working code.
  • Build APIs (REST/OpenAPI) and ensure alignment with architectural patterns and integration contracts.
  • Optimize code for
    performance, scalability, and maintainability
    across multiple domains (orders, payments, identity, ID card pipeline).
  • Work within an
    Agile/Scrum
    environment; contribute to sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Implement automated testing (unit/integration) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support migration and integration of legacy .NET codebases into the unified platform.
  • Participate in code reviews, enforce standards, and mentor junior developers.
  • Ensure adherence to
    security, compliance, and data governance
    standards.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, participate in on-call rotation, and contribute to root-cause analysis.

Skills

  • Expert knowledge of
    C#/.NET (Core/8)
    and modern software engineering practices.
  • Strong understanding of
    API development
    (REST, OpenAPI) and integration with distributed systems.
  • Experience with
    cloud-native applications
    (AWS ECS/Fargate, Lambda, S3, RDS/Postgres).
  • Familiarity with
    front-end integration
    (React/TypeScript) and Python services is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of
    SQL/relational databases
    ; experience with indexing and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on with
    CI/CD pipelines
    (GitHub Actions, Terraform/CDK a plus).
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable mentoring and leading by example in a collaborative team.

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of professional software development with C#/.NET.
  • Experience working on
    large-scale, customer-facing platforms

  • Background in
    e-commerce, identity systems, or media management
    preferred.
