Red Plate Foods products are available in grocery stores and served by airlines, schools and restaurants across the United States.

POSITION SUMMARY

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Must have demonstrated experience working for the same employer for more than 1 year. (Multiple jobs adding up to 1 year experience does not qualify.) We are looking for a long term, full time employee committed to career development within our company.

FORKLIFT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

Red Plate Foods needs a full time Warehouse Associate to provide support for warehouse and equipment related operations including inventory movement, coordinating inbound/outbound shipments and maintaining warehouse cleanliness and organization standards.

Red Plate is growing quickly, and we are looking for an individual who enjoys working in a team environment, cheerfully interacts with coworkers, loves a fast-paced environment, is up for constant change and is comfortable with independent problem solving while recognizing situations that require asking your manager for help. This position is very physical and requires repeated standing, bending, twisting and lifting of heavy boxes and equipment in a single shift. This role also frequently operates in a cold storage environment, as many of Red Plate Foods' finished goods are stored below freezing temperatures.

This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.

DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Performing general warehouse duties including lifting up to 50 pounds frequently, following safety guidelines, and operating equipment.
  • Forklift operation (requires certification).
  • Driving a box truck both in town and for deliveries/ pickups in the Portland Metro and Willamette Valley areas. Occasional overnight stays for late night/early am deliveries to receiving warehouses, company paid hotel.
  • Maintaining receiving logs and other paperwork necessary for food production facilities and warehouse safety requirements.
  • Assisting bakery production operations through timely delivery of ingredient and packaging requests.
  • Equipment and fleet maintenance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 1 years warehouse/operations experience. (Candidates without a full year or more employment with the same employer will not be considered.)
  • Must be able to work well both independently and as part of a diverse team.
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations and time critical tasks while maintaining a professional attitude and demeanor.
  • Demonstrates good organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to handle the ambiguity of a small company environment and come to work with a team mentality, willing to pitch in and work on whatever needs doing.
  • The interview will include an in person and working portion. The right candidate must be able to work directly with the warehouse manager while showing they can join the team comfortably.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Pass pre-employment physical and drug test. (Random drug testing is part of this position, as heavy equipment and vehicles operation and a part of standard operations.)

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

Shift: Monday - Friday day shift

Pay range: $19 -$24 per hour, depends on experience

Paid-Time-Off: 2 weeks time off annually, begins accruing as a ratio of hours worked in pay period.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
