Quality Assurance Auditor

Winpak Portion Packaging, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Auditor to join our Quality Assurance team based out of our Chicago Heights, IL manufacturing facility on 100% onsite shift-based operations. In this role, you will support product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance by auditing production processes, verifying specifications, and ensuring accurate documentation to maintain Winpak's high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct incoming inspections of raw materials as needed.
- Review and verify job requirements, including specifications, materials, packaging, labeling, and palletizing.
- Perform and document First Article inspections and in-process QA checks to ensure products meet specifications.
- Record inspection results, process data, and other required information accurately and legibly.
- Communicate quality concerns to operators and shift leadership to minimize downtime and non-conforming product.
- Complete Packed Product Audits and manage daily retain collection, labeling, storage, and verification.
- Assist with rework processes for non-conforming or returned products.
- Support CMM equipment and sealing equipment operation as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and follow all safety and GMP policies.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, investigations, and provide shift backup coverage as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience
- Ability to compute basic math principles.
- Verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, scales).
- Ability to follow GMPs, sanitation practices, food safety policies, and prerequisite programs.
- Ability to work onsite in a warehouse/manufacturing environment (walking/standing 4–6 hours per day, lifting up to 50 lbs, occasional bending and ladder use).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with InfinityQS or other SPC (Statistical Process Control) software.
- Familiarity with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) equipment.
- Experience with MOCON barrier testing equipment.
- Prior quality assurance or manufacturing experience in a food or packaging environment.
Additional Details
- Position Type: Hourly, full-time.
- Work Environment: 100% onsite, warehouse/manufacturing setting.
Compensation
The compensation range provided is a general guideline only. The range for this role is $20.00/hr- $25.00/hr. Pay will be determined based on candidate experience and expertise and may vary.
