Position Description:

Old Dominion Mechanical, LLC is seeking a results-driven and knowledgeable Project Sales Executive with a strong background in commercial HVAC systems. This role is responsible for identifying business opportunities, developing client relationships, preparing project proposals, and securing contracts for HVAC construction and service projects. The ideal candidate will possess technical HVAC knowledge combined with excellent communication and sales skills, allowing them to confidently engage with contractors, engineers, property managers, and owners.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities in the commercial HVAC market
  • Meet with general contractors, building owners, engineers, and facility managers to assess project needs and present HVAC solutions
  • Prepare and deliver accurate, detailed project proposals and bids based on construction documents, site assessments, and specifications
  • Collaborate with estimators, project managers, and engineers to develop accurate scopes and pricing
  • Maintain and expand relationships with current clients to ensure repeat business and referrals
  • Track and report on sales performance, pipeline, and forecasting using CRM tools
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, walkthroughs, and networking events to represent the company
  • Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions
  • Work closely with internal teams to transition awarded projects into execution smoothly

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development of marketing strategies and promotional campaigns
  • Represent Old Dominion Mechanical at industry events and trade shows
  • Provide technical insight during client consultations and assist in project value engineering when needed
  • Support negotiation and contract finalization

Required Certification/s:

  • OSHA 10 (Preferred)
  • Valid Driver's License

Required Training/s:

  • HVAC systems and equipment fundamentals
  • Construction sales and proposal development
  • CRM and sales tracking tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)

Required Work Experience:

Industry: Commercial HVAC / Mechanical Contracting

Role: Project Sales Executive, Account Manager, or Estimator

Years of Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in HVAC-related sales or project development

Required Knowledge:

  • Commercial HVAC systems and construction processes
  • Blueprint reading and HVAC system design basics
  • Local mechanical codes and industry standards
  • Bid and proposal development practices

Required Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
  • Strategic thinking and market awareness
