Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Logistics Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for ensuring smooth communication between the Logistics Team, Plant Shipping Leads, and Carrier Partners regarding shipment status and accessorial changes. The position also supports broader logistics functions such as spot quotes, TMS database management, carrier training, auditing, and reporting. The successful candidate must have strong analytical skills, a customer service mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review suspended carrier invoices, resolve discrepancies, and provide approval for payment.
  • Evaluate detention and accessorial charge requests, ensuring appropriate authorization from key stakeholders.
  • Monitor payment status of carrier invoices, provide timely updates, and follow up on aging invoices.
  • Oversee planned shipments from pickup through delivery; resolve appointment scheduling, contact, rating, and service issues.
  • Track and trace shipments, escalating urgent issues such as recovery needs, spot quotes, or critical shipments.
  • Maintain and update Transportation Management System (TMS) records, including data integrity, error corrections, templates, carrier rates, and administrative functions.
  • Generate TMS performance reports including carrier rejections, late deliveries, reason codes, and critical customer updates.
  • Support carrier scorecard execution, data analysis, and results communication.
  • Maintain and update location databases for plants, customers, carriers, and suppliers.
  • Issue weekly fuel surcharge updates, verify freight invoice accuracy, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Provide TMS training to new carriers and site users; develop and maintain SOPs for training.
  • Support TMS implementation activities and contribute to ongoing process improvement.
  • Partner with Logistics Team and management for daily problem-solving and communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or 3+ years of work experience beyond high school.
  • Minimum 1 year of business analytics experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of freight audit experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of transportation or load planning experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate Excel and Word.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a results-oriented mindset and urgency.
  • Strong prioritization, planning, and reporting competency.
  • Intermediate PC skills including spreadsheets, word processing, and database management.
