Maintenance Technology Leader II

Responsibilities

There's way more to H-E-B than our 400+ Stores. To support our manufacturing and warehouse campus locations, the H-E-B Industrial Facility Services team provides maintenance, repair, and construction in ammonia refrigeration, plant utilities, automated systems, and building services.

As a Maintenance Technology Leader II, you'll be held accountable for the Industrial Facility Services Facility Maintenance Team whose mission is to ensure the safety, reliability, and cost-effective operation of H-E-B's industrial facilities. Your scope of responsibility will include strategy, budgets, and capital project execution.

We are looking for:
-a bachelor of science degree in maintenance management, or reliability, mechanical, or electrical engineering
-5+ years of related experience

What is the work?
Management:
-Leads assigned facility maintenance teams, technicians, vendor specialist, and foremen; accountable for the Industrial Facility Services Facility Maintenance Team
-Hires, sets expectations for, and monitors exempt and non-exempt Partners
-Provides leadership to teams that implement maintenance plans to optimize the useful life of assets
-Provides leadership / direction in the implementation of safety and regulatory compliance programs, including OSHA, EPA, and local agencies
-Executes PSM Program for assigned ammonia refrigeration systems
-Ensures proper safety programs exist; communicates to / ensures compliance by maintenance Partners and customers
-Ensures all equipment is reflected in maintenance system with correct PMs
-Assists in development / management of assigned facilities annual repair and equipment replacement budgets
-Collaborates with engineers, project managers, and contractors to design / construct new facilities and establish standard specifications; collaborates with Engineering, Operations, and suppliers to develop and update design specifications on new facilities
-Reviews maintenance cost / effectiveness data with each leader throughout the year; directs necessary course corrections
-Collaborates with Facility Maintenance Manager to update design specifications

Strategy:
-Collaborates in development of reliability strategies, goals, and expectations
-Maintains a continuous improvement philosophy related to industrial maintenance processes, methods, systems

What is your background?
-Bachelor of science degree in maintenance management, reliability engineering, or mechanical / electrical engineering, OR
-AAS degree plus 5+ years of experience as a Maintenance Manager
-5+ years of related experience

Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Maintenance Technology Leader II?
-Strong written / verbal communication skills
-Strong PC skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word), a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), and Internet
-Management / leadership skills
-Bilingual (English - Spanish) skills is a plus

Can you...
-Travel by car or plane with overnight stays
-Walk long distances; climb ladders / stairs to gain rooftop access; stand, stoop, crawl; work in hot and cold spaces; maneuver around equipment
-Work around industrial facilities, including food, manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, refrigerated
-Respond to emergency situations any time of day or night
-Spend long periods of time on the job during emergencies (inside and outside)
